Pragmatics and Semantics
Many contemporary philosophical theories of pragmatics concentrate on semantics. Brandom for instance is a focus on the meaning of words (albeit from a pragmatic perspective).

While pragmatism may be a viable alternative to the dominant philosophical traditions of continental and analytic, it is not without its critics. For example some philosophers have argued that pragmatism is merely an extension of deconstructionism and is not really a new philosophical approach.
