This means that it does not have the more sophisticated features that are available in other Breville models, like a display to show you the amount of water and pressure are being used and an automatic milk frother. But this doesn't mean the Barista Express isn't a great alternative for coffee lovers who want to upgrade from their current home espresso machine.

The tamper is adjustable so you can achieve the appropriate amount of pressure when making an extraction. This isn't a feature that's found on most domestic machines however it can make an enormous difference to the shots you take. The most significant thing that distinguishes this model from other Sage options is that it has the dual boiler system. It allows you to make a brew while steaming, which is great for milk-based drinks. It also comes with a PID that allows you to control the brew temperature which isn't possible on many other machines. The only drawback to this is that it's more than a single boiler or heat exchanger systems.
