Top Rated Robot Vacuums

imageA robot vacuum will keep your floors tidy enough to reduce the frequency of manual hoovering. Look for one that offers excellent navigation, is able to clean stairs and corners and also has a large dust bin that has to be emptied only periodically.

You can also find models that clean and charge on their own which can be essential for those who have pets or children. Many of the Best combo vacuum performers in our tests have good obstacles to avoid.

1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling, the i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is an excellent option for those who want a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience, but want to manually empty the dust bin once it gets full.

Both robots are adept at picking up surface dirt on floors and carpets, and they can easily maneuver around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart maps of your home that aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean efficiently. However, unlike the i7+ or other top-rated robots we tested, the i3+ doesn't have a feature for avoiding obstacles which means it can get stuck on things like socks or power cords, and may have issues in navigating through transitions between surfaces like hardwood to rug.

iRobot suggests that you clear areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, and include clearing out any toys or clutter it might encounter. You should also keep the dustbin and filter clear to avoid becoming clogged. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station and Best Combo Vacuum takes the dirt out of the docking station's external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning where it began. The battery's lifespan is around an hour and a half of constant use. It takes three hours to fully charge.

2. iRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the most recent features. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and -- the most important feature of all -- it comes with self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint smart robot vacuums Mapping, a system that allows it to identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can direct your robot using the app or by voice.

In our testing, the i7+ was faster and more maneuverable than our top choice, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surface kinds including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, is its self-emptying dustbin, which eliminates a major cause of maintenance and cuts down on recurring costs.

We were also impressed with the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to start or stop cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room, and vacuum a particular area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. Once connected, to give voice commands to the i7+, like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and monitoring performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is a sports car that is amidst a sea of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, but also small enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide fade-free power for 60 minutes. Its sophisticated whole-machine filtration system captures allergens and expels cleaner air back into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpet to collect large crumbs and fine dust. It has three suction modes to match the task at hand. It is able to swiftly change between handheld and floor vacuum and vice versa.

The model also comes with a dock that charges to 100% in around 3.5 hours and offers easy access to two attachments as well as the Wand clip. This is a big improvement over older Dysons models, which take a long time to charge and are difficult to store.

The biggest issue with the V10 is its short run time. As CR's tests have shown, its advertising claims of up to 60 minutes are not true. This is an average, not an exceptional, run time for an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. This is enough time to vacuum the average-sized home however, it's not enough time to get into every corner. (A second run is usually sufficient). This model has its own advantages however: it's light and more maneuverable than older Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeably superior on carpets with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

One of iRobot's most adored robot vac vacuums The 694 is a basic model that's an excellent choice for people who don't wish to spend too much money on a robot. It's capable of sucking up all kinds of debris in our tests, and often goes over the same areas several times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front side helps it to reach into corners and along the walls' edges and walls, which is a nice addition.

Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt technology to steer clear of obstacles and navigate your home. It's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, like our top picks, the i3+EVO and J7+ Series. It can get stuck on phone cords or furniture and often runs out of power before returning to its home base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum cleaner comparison is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 because it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtration system, incurs lower recurring cost and is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and can better maneuver itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba 694. It also comes with physical boundaries strips and can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It also feels more sturdy, has a more powerful motor, and performs notably better on both bare floors and low-pile carpet, while providing a greater variety of automation options.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a well-known brand in home electronics. It's not a surprise that they are also among the top manufacturers of robot vacuums and best combo vacuum mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is packed with cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacles avoidance.

The app provides plenty of options to personalize your robotic floor vacuums cleaner, such as virtual barriers, mopping water levels and behavior adjustments docking frequency settings and much more. It's easy to understand and easy to use, just as is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and it cleaned up 86% of dog hair (on carpet). However, it wasn't particularly well in avoiding larger objects, like cords and socks which was a disappointment. It's also more expensive than the other models we've tested and this could be a problem for certain shoppers.

The app allows you to access the camera onboard of the smart vacuum. You can also create live streaming from the robot's cleaning zone. This feature lets you keep track of your pets or kids when you're away from home. The filter and the dust bin can be washed to make cleanup quick and easy. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with a self-emptying clean station, which helps to keep the bin clean and optimizes suction power.
