Origins
In prehistoric times, the ancestors to today's Koreans were able to survive by hunting and gathering wild foods. Around 10,000 years ago, they began to cultivate millet, beans and other crops. They also raised livestock and

Evolution in Korea
The Korean peninsula was habitable from Neolithic times until. Gojoseon was the first state to be recognized during the first half of 1st millennium BCE. The northern region of the peninsula was for a while occupied by the Balhae Kingdom that historians do believe to be a real Korean state.

People who are shocked by the huge costs of the old systems advocate a comprehensive program of liberalization of capital, labor and markets for products. On the other hand champions of the old system are seeking to keep it in place by leveraging nationalist sentiments and exaggerating fears about job losses.
Analysts and academics are divided over the extent to which Korea's growth is being driven by these two trends. This article focuses on the five phases of Korea's development in terms of its political development: democratic democracies that are not liberal (1945-60), democratic autoritarianism (1961-72) authoritarian exceptionalism (1972-1877), democratic paternalism (2001-2002) and democratic participation (2002). This article also identifies significant factors that may be influencing these developments.
Creationism in Korea
In South Korea, 26 percent of the population is Christian. Creationists have made significant progress in promoting their beliefs to this segment. A survey in 2009 revealed that almost one third of respondents do not believe in the theory of evolution. Of those, 41% claimed that there wasn't enough evidence from science to support the theory; 39% said the theory contradicted their religion and 17% said it was difficult to comprehend. This level of doubt is comparable to that of the United States where a similar percentage do not believe humans evolved from earlier forms of life.
In the past, the anti-evolution campaign in Korea focused primarily on the education of students and the introduction of Christ to them. In 1980 an all-day creation science seminar was held in Seoul during the World Evangelization Crusade. Drs. Henry Morris and Duane Giss of ICR were the main speakers. The event attracted an impressive crowd of professors, scientists, and church leaders.
The success of this event resulted in the establishment of the Korea Association of Creation Research (KACR) on January 31st, 1981. The event was widely covered in the national press,

KACR began publishing a monthly newsletter called CREATION, where it reported on its activities and published articles on scientific evidence for creationism. It also translated a number of film strips and slides from ICR and also some books on creationism that were already published outside of Korea. KACR members also gave talks at universities and churches throughout the country.
One instance of one KACR success story was at the KAIST university in Seoul. Students at the KAIST university in Seoul were so keen on the concept of creationism that they raised funds and received support to build an enlightened museum on campus.
In addition to its work, KACR has published a bimonthly publication called CREATION. This magazine covers topics in the creation science. It also sponsored a series of lectures by ICR staff. It has also established a network of local branches that conduct seminars and provide talks to schoolchildren and other community groups.
Evolution in South Korea
In the latter half of the nineteenth century and early twentieth century, Korea began to adopt an increasingly Westernized lifestyle. The traditional Korean dress, the hanbok, was replaced by miniskirts and other fashion elements from abroad. The traditional Korean music was also replaced by jazz and rock & roll. In the period of this transition the famous samulnori, also known as the masked dance-dramas were very popular. These dramatic pieces were performed to the accompaniment of shaman drums and different musical instruments.
