Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot
Vacuum DealsThis is your time to own a robot vacuum. CNET's top-rated models will be available for Black Friday and Cyber Monday with discounts as high as 57%.
The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that has smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its run time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also automatically replenishes and self-empties its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba J7+, IRobot's smartest robot to date, is the Roomba J7+. Its greatest breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to recognize objects like charging cords, shoes, and the pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often plough right through). It's the first robot to send you images of objects that it encounters, meaning you can tell the robot to stay clear of it.
The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop we've ever tested. It removes dirt and spills effortlessly, leaving no trace that it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. It can schedule cleanings, and also create Keep Out Zones to ensure that it doesn't sweep in areas that you don't would like. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it from start to stop with your voice.
Its design is an improvement over the rest with a sleek top piece that looks more like a toy
robotic hoovers than a loud, obnoxious one. And the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System self-empties and is ideal to speed up cleaning.
In our tests the j7+ was quick to clean up dust, dirt and pet hair. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in place, rather than scattering it around the floor. It was able to collect small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a little grit. Most robots can't do this. It did all this without getting tangled in our pet's hair.
While it's not quite as smart as the $1,217 iRobot Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Robot
remote vacuum cleaner and can't clean stairs The J7+ is an excellent choice for
Vacuum Deals those who need mopping and a vac in their home. It's not too expensive, and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly.
While the iRobot Home app is very easy to use, we've found it to be less reliable than other apps that use robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates, and at times it's difficult to tell whether the update actually working until you see it in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking for a vacuum that does more than simply clean floors, the most effective option is likely to be a hybrid. These machines are equipped with a water tank, so they can vacuum and mop simultaneously. They also have a number of extra features, including smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance, and even the capability to dry and wash mopping pads. They're expensive at retail, but usually are reduced on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock makes some of our favorite robot vacuums and the Q5+ is no exception. This is the least expensive model in their auto-empty line. Although it doesn't include some of the luxurious features (like no-go areas and multi-story memories), it's still a great choice if you are willing to make some compromises to save a few dollars.
The Q5+ is remarkably gentle when it comes down to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it a great option for homes with many furniture pieces. It's also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies. This is a area where many robot vacuums that are less expensive do not excel in. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is superb and has very few missing in corners and on walls.
Like other Roborock devices like the Q5+, the Q5+ can be controlled using a few buttons on the device itself or through the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set up schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go areas or modify your home map or change the room's label.
If you choose to purchase the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock, which was specifically designed to make the robot easy to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once it's installed, emptying the bin can be accomplished with relative ease. It features a large LCD screen, which is useful in setting up schedules and adjusting settings. This isn't a necessary feature for the majority of people, but it's one that can aid in keeping the track of your robot's maintenance intervals with ease.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of mopping and vacuuming. Its design is among the top in the market however it's quite expensive.
It is a relatively small base station that looks stunning and is able to be concealed when not in use. But the station's main selling point is how it automates numerous tasks and functions that other robots leave up to you. It stores clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which the majority of other robots require you to do) also emptying the dustbin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot clean and charged.
Its vacuuming performance is quite impressive as well. It's the only robot vacuum I've tested that does a good job picking up dirt from floors that aren't. And it's not as loud as the costly Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
However, the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly in terms of navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, meaning it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain areas of your home. It's also unable to climb stairs as well as other models and isn't equipped with a docking station to create a clean zone for carpets that are soft.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need an automated vacuum that can do everything.
But if you want to save money, or just don't care about the limitations of this robot, there are plenty of other great choices on the market which include a variety of eufy models that cost considerably less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for example is a bit more expensive however it comes with many more features, like stairs and a fully-function Dock, that provides the ability to provide a more thorough vacuuming experience on plain floors carpets, low-pile carpets, and even high-pile ones.
4. eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy is an Anker company that has an established track record of making
robot vacuum cleaners vacuums that offer the perfect balance of performance, features, and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different, offering a capable cleaning on hard floors and mopping functions as well as carpets at a price that is affordable. It's easy to set it up, just snap on one of the side brush and then turn it on. Then connect your charging dock. The app guides you through the steps needed to connect it to your Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. The dock must be placed near an outlet with plenty of room to move.
The G30 is a small device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, which means it will be tucked away under couches and low-clearance pieces of furniture. The design is less flashy than some of the rival models, and features a sleek black finish and three physical buttons that control Auto Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge and Spot Clean (which cleans the area in spiral patterns for 2 minutes). You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to conduct cleaning without a schedule using voice commands.
The way in which the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from its rivals. It makes use of a built-in map to create an image of immovable objects in its path, remembering what it's already cleaned and where it can't access. When it's time to recharge, it automatically returns to its starting point and begins cleaning from where it left off.
The eufy G30 has its flaws, though.
