Pragmatics is the study of the relationship between language, context and meaning. It deals with questions like what do people mean by the words they use?
It's a philosophy that focuses on the practical and sensible actions. It differs from idealism, which is the belief that one should stick to their principles regardless of the circumstances.
What is Pragmatics?
The study of pragmatics focuses on the way that language users interact and communicate with each with one another. It is often thought of as a part of a language, but it differs from semantics because pragmatics focuses on what the user is trying to convey and not on what the actual meaning is.
As a field of study, pragmatics is relatively new and research in the area has been growing rapidly over the last few decades. It has been mostly an academic area of study within linguistics, but it also influences research in other fields such as speech-language pathology, psychology sociolinguistics, and the study of anthropology.
There are a myriad of ways to approach pragmatics that have contributed to the development and growth of this field. One is the Gricean pragmatics approach, which is based primarily on the notions of intention and their interaction with the speaker's knowledge about the listener's understanding. The lexical and concept perspectives on pragmatics are also perspectives on the subject. These perspectives have contributed to the wide range of topics that researchers in pragmatics have studied.
The study of pragmatics has focused on a variety of subjects such as L2 pragmatic understanding, production of requests by EFL learners and the role of theory of mind in mental and physical metaphors. It has been applied to social and cultural phenomena like political speech,

What is Free Pragmatics?

These are crucial processes that shape the meaning of an utterance.
What is the difference between explanatory and free Pragmatics?
Pragmatics is the study of how context contributes to linguistic meaning. It evaluates how human language is utilized in social interactions, and the relationship between the interpreter and the speaker. Linguists who specialize in pragmatics are referred to as pragmaticians.
Many different theories of pragmatics have been developed over time. Some, such as Gricean pragmatics, concentrate on the communicative intention of the speaker. Relevance Theory for instance is focused on the processes of understanding that take place when listeners interpret the meaning of utterances. Certain approaches to pragmatics are merged with other disciplines, like cognitive science and philosophy.
There are different opinions on the borderline between semantics and pragmatics. Morris is one philosopher who believes that semantics and pragmatism are two distinct topics. He argues semantics concerns the relationship between signs and objects that they might or may not refer to, whereas pragmatics is concerned with the use of words in a context.
Other philosophers, including Bach and Harnish have suggested that pragmatics is a subfield of semantics. They distinguish between 'near-side and 'far-side' pragmatism. Near-side pragmatics is concerned with the content of what is said, while far-side focuses on the logical implications of saying something. They argue that some of the 'pragmatics' that accompany an expression are already determined by semantics, while the rest is determined by pragmatic processes of inference.
One of the most important aspects of pragmatics is that it is contextually dependent. This means that the same word can mean different things in different contexts, depending on factors such as ambiguity and
