Pragmatics and Semantics
Many modern philosophical perspectives focus on semantics. Brandom for instance is focused on the meaning of words (albeit from a pragmatic viewpoint).

While pragmatism may be a viable alternative to the mainstream analytic and continental philosophical traditions but it's not without its critics. For example some philosophers have claimed that pragmatism is merely an expression of deconstructionism, and is not a new philosophical approach.
