What is Pragmatism?
People who are pragmatic prioritize actions and solutions that are likely to be effective in the real world. They don't get caught up by a set of idealistic theories that may not be practical in the real world.

This article outlines three principles of pragmatic inquiry and provides two project examples on the organizational processes of non-governmental organizations. It argues that the pragmatic approach is an effective research method to study the dynamic processes.

Pragmatic thinking is an approach to solve problems that focuses on practical outcomes and their consequences. It puts practical results ahead of emotions, beliefs and moral principles. But, this way of thinking can create ethical dilemmas if it conflicts with moral values or fundamentals. It can also overlook the long-term implications of decisions.
Pragmatism is a philosophy that first emerged in the United States around 1870. It is a growing alternative to the analytic and continental philosophical traditions across the globe. The pragmatic philosophers Charles Sanders Peirce and William James (1842-1910) were the first to define it. They formulated the theory in a series papers, and then promoted it through teaching and practicing. Their students included Josiah Royce (1855-1916) and John Dewey (1859-1952).
Early pragmatists questioned foundational theories of reasoning, which believed that empirical knowledge relied on the unquestioned beliefs of a set of people. Pragmatists like Peirce or Rorty believed that theories are constantly being updated and should be considered as hypotheses that may require to be reformulated or discarded in light of future research or experience.
A core pragmatic maxim was the principle that any theory can be clarified through tracing its "practical consequences" and its implications for the experience of specific contexts. This method led to a distinct epistemological outlook:

The indicators used in this study are publication by year, the top 10 regions, universities, journals, research areas and authors. The scientometric indicator is based on cooccurrence, cocitation and citation.
